Stefan Schwarze was our special guest teacher in Morocco. He brought us to the beach for a cleansing session of Tai-Sho, exercises that have been in practice for more than a thousand years by monks in the Buddhist Temples of China. Lauren Hanna taught class every afternoon into the sunset hour on the rooftop of Villa Mandala, our home for seven nights on Banana Beach. The warm dusty air and sounds of prayers from the village nearby stilled our minds. Morocco, like the Middle East, is an Islamic country. Prayers can be heard at least five times a day. Imagine surfing to the sounds of prayer (which we did), a beautiful combination of mediation on water.
