This month’s teacher spot light is Tracy Mohr. You can find Tracy teaching at Sonic Yoga NYC these days, Tuesday nights 630-8pm and Thursdays 12:30-1:30pm. Tracy began her studies in Kundalini Yoga, followed by study with Alan Finger and ISHTA Yoga where she received her first 500 hour certification thru the Be Yoga Studio. Tracy met Shiva Rea in 2001 and became a devoted student and friend, and eventually received her 500 hour Prana Flow certification. Tracy also teaches at her home studio in Westchester and is available for privates this summer in the Hamptons and Montauk. Tracy will guest teach with Lauren Hanna at the Sonic Liquid Retreat at Montauk August 12-14.

PLANK POSE
TARGETS: ARMS, ABS, BACK, CORE
Lift the sides of your waist by bringing your pubic bone toward your chin as you continue pulling your heart forward. Make sure your hips don’t sag down or bend up.

BOAT POSE
TARGETS: ABS AND HIP FLEXORS
Sit behind your sit bones but in front of your tailbone to protect it. With each inhale, broaden the collarbones; with each exhale, draw the belly in towards the spine.

CRESCENT POSE
TARGETS: LEGS, BUTT, ABS AND ARMS
Activate your lower body by squeezing your right glute in and back, pressing down into your front heel and reaching back through your back heel; work your abs by drawing your bellybutton to your spine with each exhale. FYI: Your arms get toned by the action of reaching overhead. Oh, and for symmetry’s sake, be sure to do both sides.
