2ND ANNUAL EAST END GLOBAL MALA, Ditch Plains, Montauk, Saturday, Sept 18th (Rain date: Sunday, Sept 19th)
Lauren Hanna of Liquid Yoga + Surf and Sonic Yoga will lead East End yoga studios Ananda, Kama Deva, Love, Mandala, One Ocean, Sangha, Tapovana Ashtanga and Yoga Shanti in support of the Global Mala Project, initiated by teacher, friend, and catalyst, Shiva Rea. Three years ago, Shiva had a vision to unite the global yoga community to promote peace on our planet. Her belief in the power of the collective consciousness was the spark for the creation of the Global Mala Project.
From Sept 19-21, the Fall Equinox, the yoga world’s offering to further the UN International Peace Day, studios, teachers and organizations across the globe create fund raising celebrations for some of the most essential issues of our times. Each center offers their form of a Yoga Mala according to their yoga tradition and inspiration, forming a “mala around the earth” through collective practices based upon the sacred cycle of 108.
Please join us September 18th for an East End Global Mala celebration at Ditch Plains Beach, Montauk with 108 Sun Salutations led by participating yoga studios/teachers. We will then form two Malas, one in the ocean (108 surfers) and one on the beach (108 land lovers).
